Support the definition and implementation of the E2E Procurement sustainability strategy to ensure transparency and alignment on the Lonza global sustainability goals, in collaboration with the Procurement team, internal stakeholders and suppliers. Coordinate and monitor supplier performance management in terms of sustainability and social responsibility (assessments, corrective actions, KPIs follow-up, support, etc.) Coordinate change management processes within the Global Procurement organization and make CSR & Sustainability a key priority within the responsibilities of the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the Procurement sustainability strategy for Lonza in alignment with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Support the development and roll-out of the vendor due diligence and risk management process to identify, address and resolve potential ESG risks with Lonza’s suppliers (including required technology, organization structure, ways of working, policies and procedures, KPI’s)

  • Coordinate the Procurement cross-functional sustainability projects (Supplier Code of Conduct review, embed sustainability elements into Procurement processes, sustainability related terms into contracts, etc.)

  • Coordinate the engagement with suppliers in order to support Lonza’s sustainability priorities and goals (e.g.: Scope 3)

  • Implement and monitor relevant targets, KPI’s and reporting capabilities to track and measure the performance of the program and of our suppliers

  • Manage the dedicated supplier assessment platforms (workflow, reporting, communication, support, etc.)

  • Monitor and research emerging trends, global sustainability dynamics regulatory environment

  • Keep up-to date with relevant standards, regulations, and market trends

  • Develop and execute training for Procurement professionals

  • Support and communicate with internal and external stakeholders

Key requirements:

  • Proven working experience either in sustainability management/ Corporate Social Responsibility or in sustainable procurement at an international or global level

  • Familiarity with GHG Accounting (scope 3) and reporting frameworks (CDP, GRI, etc.)

  • Understanding of different Procurement disciplines and how they integrate with each other

  • Exposure to sustainability/CSR topics such as human rights, labor standards, environment, conflict minerals, etc.

  • Experience in working in a dynamic environment with ability to prioritize and focus

  • Ability to coordinate activities globally

  • Experience in working with data and forming insights and actions

  • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills both written and verbal

  • Experience in working in international, virtual and cross-functional teams
