Lonza in Portsmouth, NH, is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager. The Incumbent will be responsible for business partnering, financial analysis & decision support, management reporting planning, stakeholder collaboration and systems/tools. The Senior Finance Manager is an engaged team member who works in close partnership with divisional, business unit, controlling and other key functional business teams to support business requirements, initiatives and goals.
Takes a leading role as financial “business partner” by supporting the division, business units, key business functions and controlling teams to support, initiate and/or deliver business objectives. Independently navigate within matrix business structure with high degree of partnership and team player skillfulness.
Pro-actively and within recurring requirements, perform easy to complex financial analysis, recommendations as relevant, opportunities for improvements, optimizations and concise meaningful summaries to all levels of stakeholders within the division. Decision support to key stakeholders including business/financial modeling, sales and contribution analysis, commercial agreements, pricing & terms, overheads, marketing intelligence, business cases, capital and CAR reviews and hoc.
Within a matrix business structure, responsible for supporting and completing management reporting (group, segment, FP&A, division, business unit, key functions). Active driver of reporting enhancements, improvements and efficiencies.
Integral lead in business teams’ planning processes such as long term planning (BSR), annual budget, annual outlooks and forecasts. Provide guidance, support and direction to key stakeholders and colleagues within the planning processes. Pro-actively suggest, recommend and implement improvements and efficiencies.
Closely collaborate with key stakeholders (division, business units, segment, functions, group and so forth) to optimize and ensure compliance within processes, deliverables and division goals. High level of communication to safeguard alignment and expectation management
Active contributor and takes a lead (as relevant) in systems and tool enhancement, improvements, design and implementation (SAP, BPC, division systems) pertaining to reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Advanced degree (MBA) preferred
Significant experience managing a team and having direct reports
Highly analytical, financial business modeling, demonstrated experience in working with diverse teams spread across geographies, strong and concise written and oral communication, team oriented, at ease with systems and ambiguity, cross-functional agility and hands-on can do mindset of excellence.
Hyperion, SAP, BW, PowerPoint, Excel, global integrated system. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, controlling, budgeting, cost control principles, standard costs and accounting standards
Ability to be a “business partner”, bias towards action and results delivery which are critical in a highly performance oriented environment, hard worker, self-motivated and actively manage day to day delivery
Critical thinking, able to manage multiple priorities, able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, work extra hours as required and maintain composure in stressful situations.
