Night Shift Supervisor, Facilities and Engineering

Lonza Houston’s Cell and Gene Therapy Facility is the largest in the world and is still growing. We are looking for professionals to grow with us in our Facilities and Engineering business unit. The Supervisor of Facilities and Engineering will be responsible for supervising maintenance technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of assigned equipment in accordance with site standard operating procedures, on-call management coverage as required and responding to emergency calls. The Supervisor will exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, as well as, ensuring schedules and performance requirements are met.
Ensure timely and efficient closure of work orders, planned and un-planned; for calibrations, PM and general maintenance activities.
Select, train, motivate and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures; assign tasks, projects and monitor assigned personnel.
Responsible for the execution of the planned maintenance work.
Responsible for developing criteria, performance specifications, and SOPs for facilities and equipment.
Coordinate inspection of and monitor building systems to determine cost effective repair or replacement.
Monitor the work performed by independent contractors and sub-contractors; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
Support the process of building repairs and/or construction work as required.
Ensure all EHS related documentation and permits are properly initiated and records maintained.
Perform other duties as assigned.
A.S. Degree preferred or a degree in a technical field and/ or engineering. Combination of education and experience considered.
Significant experience in a Pharmaceutical environment with experience in Facilities & Engineering, building maintenance and equipment functionality i.e. HVAC, supply of power, ect.
Significant experience in leading/ growing a Facilities & Engineering/ Maintenance team.
Excellent working knowledge of cGMP standards.
Skilled with MSOffice Applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Teams.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
