Associate Maintenance Engineer is to help improve work force productivity, increase the efficiency/quality of maintenance work performed, and maintain the systems used in maintenance.  This is achieved by being part of a cross-functional team with the objective of eliminating potential delays through planning, allocation and coordination of labor resources (direct and contractor), accounting for required parts, permits and tagout requirements  This also includes maintaining the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for calibration, Preventive Maintenance (PM), and equipment assets, entering purchase requisitions for service contracts, and maintaining drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The role of the Associate Maintenance Engineer is to improve work force productivity, and increase the efficiency of work performed by Technicians and Engineers.  This is achieved by anticipating potential delays through planning, and coordination of labor (direct and contractor), assessment of required parts, permits and tagout requirements.
  • A successful Associate Maintenance Engineer is an integral member of a highly performing Maintenance Organization.
  • Core functions and competencies include careful planning and preparation of work execution packages to maintain equipment reliability, ensuring all calibration and PM tasks are executed within schedule, maintaining and updating maintenance and engineering SOP’s, and managing the service contracts.  
  • The Associate Maintenance Engineer provides basic support for the maintenance execution teams by working with the Production Schedulers to maximize equipment availability windows and help establish a solid plan for work execution.  Routine dialog and clear communication is necessary between multiple cross-functional groups.
  • The Associate Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in the successful execution of the maintenance program and is required to work closely with the following business process teams:  Maintenance Leads and Technicians, Production Schedulers, Operations Leads/Associates, and Process / Project Engineers.
  • Regular updates and status reports for maintenance systems including PM and Calibration Event Due reports are expected to be provided to department and area management on a regular basis.
  • The above role is performed in a regulated cGMP business environment utilizing a structured Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Key requirements:

  • Preferred ­­­­5+ years in a GMP/Professional environment
  • Use of Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Use of GMP Quality Systems such as: SAP, TrackWise, LSO and CMMS
  • Very strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Makes quality decisions independently and also with guidance from Manager.
