Quality Control Analyst (Bench Chemist)

Lonza Walkersville is IMMEDIATELY hiring a  Quality Control Analyst to perform routine lab testing, writing and reviewing SOPs, using Trackwise,  acting on deviations, handling CAPAs and investigations. This Quality Control Analyst  reports to the QC Raw Materials Supervisor.  As a  Quality Control Analyst, you  will   work closely with Sterility, Endotoxin, Cells and Bioscience Release Testing departments.   

Key responsibilities:

  • Record, analyze, and review all data related to testing.
  • Writes and revises SOPs and provides suggestions for method improvements.
  • Schedules & performs routine testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products
  • Communicates with subcontract labs
  • Prepares sample shipments and submission paperwork for contract laboratory testing. 
  • Trains other analysts on basic and specialized activities.
  • Writes OOS/deviation investigations with minimal oversight
  • Run analytical method transfer and qualification/validation

Key requirements:

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent along with some working experience in  laboratory based role required; Bachelor’s degree along with some laboratory experience is a plus
  • Some working experience in a GMP environment with cGMP/GLP
  • Some knowledge or working experience Chemistry testing and/or water sampling
  • Some working experience in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office.  SAP experience is a plus
  • Strong work ethic, strong written and oral communication.
  • Willing to work Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. Must work a Saturday or Sunday schedule twice per year during occasional water testing and sampling.
